Habelle’s Foundation Partners UPSA Accounting Students for Youth Empowerment Seminar

Updated: Nov 8

The Habelle’s Foundation, in collaboration with the Department of Accounting Studies

Association (DASA) of the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), held the second

edition of its Youth Empowerment Activity Hub under the theme “See You at the Top.” The half-day seminar, which drew a large audience of students and young professionals, sought to inspire participants to build essential life and career skills for future success.

The event, held at the university’s main auditorium, brought together seasoned professionals

and facilitators who engaged students in interactive sessions on time management, CV writing,

financial literacy, and professional networking.

In her opening remarks, Miss. Hannah Arabella E. E. Tachie-Menson, representing Habelle’s

Foundation, reaffirmed the organization’s dedication to supporting youth development through

mentorship and capacity-building initiatives.

“At Habelle’s Foundation, we believe empowerment goes beyond inspiration; it is about

equipping young people with the tools, mindset, and confidence to take action,” she said. “Our

partnership with UPSA reflects our shared vision of preparing the next generation of leaders to

thrive in competitive and evolving work environments.”

The DASA President, in his welcome address, commended Habelle’s Foundation for the

collaboration, emphasizing the importance of blending academic knowledge with practical life

skills.

“As students, we often focus heavily on academics, but success after school requires much

more: discipline, networking, and self-awareness,” he stated. “This initiative gives us a platform

to learn directly from professionals and align our aspirations with real-world expectations.”

The first session on Time Management, led by Lieutenant Colonel Larry Kwesi Boateng,

introduced participants to techniques for effective planning and balancing academic work with

personal productivity. This was followed by an engaging session on CV Writing by Miss. Tachie-Menson, who guided students on how to craft compelling CVs and avoid common mistakes that hinder employability.

During the Financial Literacy segment, Sharon Aseye Amenume emphasized the importance of

personal budgeting, saving habits, and smart investment strategies for young adults. The

subsequent LinkedIn Elevation session, led by Precious Darkwa, taught participants how to

build a strong online presence, network effectively, and leverage digital platforms for career

advancement.

In closing, the event organizers expressed gratitude to all facilitators, partners, and attendees

for making the program a success. The day ended with a group photo and networking session,

giving participants the opportunity to interact and exchange ideas.

Through initiatives like the Youth Empowerment Activity Hub, Habelle’s Foundation continues

to advance its mission of empowering young people with knowledge, confidence, and practical

tools for success.
